FEWAR-DVD is tightly designed. Elegant. Clean, despite its purposeful aesthetic grunge. Minimalist without sacrificing flavor. It s car cely needs to explain itself. Jump in and you will pick up everything you need to know. Even better if you like glitch art and stylized lo-res aesthetics (I especially love the game’s use of words for texture). The music is as intense and in-your-face as the visuals. (Soundtrack release when?)
This game is a well-packaged arcade-style take on action roguelikes. It’s well-suited to short play sessions. Play it while waking up. Play it while waiting. Play it when you’re restless. Play it because you want just one more try. A really slick, fast-paced arcade game with great music and an absolutely phenomenal sense of style. There is no storytelling outright but the aesthetic of the game is so strong that I can’t help but feel that this is a real place – a world stuck in an intense fever. The runs are pretty short so it’s super easy to pick up for a few minutes, do a couple of runs, and then proceed with whatever you were doing without feeling frustrated at all. Really recommend it!
A unique and interesting little arcade game, absolutely dripping with style. It’s fun! I was pleasantly surprised, it’s easy to get into a new run and although nothing is explicitly explained to you, it’s easy to pick up on everything.
